Teams;
Squad sessions for both Jimmy Bruen and Junior Cup panels on Wednesday 27th, pharmacy 6.15 at the clubhouse under the direction of teams’ captain Gerry Kilbride. Numbers so far have been frankly disappointing and we would urge all qualified members to come along and indeed to actively encourage participation among some of the more reluctant troops. Inter-club competition is very important to the club and a great way for any player to improve his all-round game.

Congrats to Aidan Heffernan, who’s nett 64 lead the way. Mark Wehrly’s gross 74 was also a best in field and finally a mention for John O’Donoghue who claimed the 64th a final qualifying spot and can now go about reclaiming the title he held in 2009.

Fixtures;
Next week-end (Easter week-end) Strandhill will host four days of open competitions starting Good Friday and running through to Easter Monday. Format each day will be singles stableford, with a twenty euro entry fee for visitors. Timesheets in operation, contact shop at 071 9168725.

Teams;
Congratulations to our juniors, who negotiated a tricky first round tie in the Fred Daly trophy against Enniscrone, in great style. With four of the seven singles matches to be played away one would expect our lads to be slight underdogs, but a three-nil whitewash at home added to two taken against the head in Enniscrone lead to a marvellous 5-2 overall victory. The team on the day comprised Daragh Higgins, Conor McDaniel, Ciaran Fox, Philip Moriarty, Christian Borthwick, Tristan Probst and Conor Wynne. Well done lads from all at the club!

Jimmy Bruen and Junior Cup panels are requested to attend a practice session on Wednesday 20th at the clubhouse.

Competitions
The John Mullane Planthire singles stableford took place on Saturday last and some of our senior stalwarts rolled back the clock to dominate the leaderboard. Pride of place goes to Jimmy Glynn who’s forty points saw him across the line, pills after countback, information pills ahead of Martin Cronin with the same score. Tom Gallogly with thirty nine points filled the third spot with Sean Fenton edging out Pat McCaffrey, also after countback, both finishing on thirty eight points.
On Sunday we had the qualifier for our matchplay cups, sponsored by Sligo Park Hotel. The draws for all three categories will be posted later in the week but special mention for Ronnie Conlon who’s good run continued with a best of the day score of 65 nett.
Next Saturday we have the Addam Menswear singles stableford off whites and on Sunday the Val Harte memorial trophy qualifier, stroke off blue.

Teams.
Jimmy Bruen squad sessions continue on Wednesday 13th at 6.30. Team capt Gerry Kilbride asks all to be present for a short team meeting on the night.
