Saturday Club Stableford Competition

Saturdays Club Stableford Competition was a very tightly contested affair with no less than six players scoring 36 points or better. First and second places could only be separated by a count back as both players scored 40 points. Michael Henry did enough to secure first place by playing consistently from start to finish, sales scoring five pars on the way including three in a row from the thirteenth to the fifteenth holes. Bill Cashell took second place, treatment also on a score of 40 points. Bill scored seven pars, including three in a row on holes ten, eleven and twelve and added a birdie on the par three second hole to sign for his score. Brian Leonard secured third spot with a score of 39 points in a round that contained eight pars and 4 birdies including back to back birdies on the second and third holes as well as closing out his round with an impressive birdie on the difficult eighteenth hole.

Strandhill Lodge & Suites Winter League

The Strandhill Lodge & Suites Winter League got under way this week in glorious sunshine. This prestigious competition dates back almost 70 years and will see players from Strandhill Golf Club as well as Rosses Point and Castle Dargan, to name but a few, compete for this coveted title over the course of the winter months. Please ensure you book the correct nine holes as front and back nines will alternate every second week, so if you played the front nine this week, you will play the back nine next week and vice versa .

Senior Open 15 Hole Stableford Competition

Our first Senior Open Competition was held on Wednesday last and was a fantastic success considering it was organised in such a short space of time. We had 34 entrants which was absolutely fantastic for the opening day. Prize winners were as follows.

2nd Eamonn Howley 35 pts
3rd Kieran Greene 34 pts ( Carrick On Shannon )

Prizes can be collected in the Golf Shop. Next Seniors Open Wednesday will be held on December 3rd. We would like to thank everyone for their support on the day and hope the next day will be even better.
