Friday Open 18 Hole Stableford

This week’s Friday Open Stableford Competition threw up a mixture of conditions and they probably favoured those players that went out early in the day as the wind picked up and the rain arrived as the morning progressed. First place was taken by Pat Togher with an impressive score of 41 points. Pat put together a round that consisted of 9 pars, what is ed six on the front nine and three on the back nine including four-in-a-row from the third to the sixth as well as adding three birdies. The first of the birdies came on the par four seventh and was followed by back-to-back birdies on the fifteenth and sixteenth holes to complete his score of 41 points.

Second place was taken by Larry Kelly from County Sligo Golf Club with a score of 37 points. Larry’s got off to a great start by sinking his par putt on the first hole and completed his front nine by adding a further four pars including two-in-a-row on the eighth and ninth holes. With the weather changing he did well to stay consistent on the back nine holes to ensure that he signed for his score of 37 points.

Third place was taken by Louis Walker from Greencastle Golf Club in Donegal with a score of 35 points. Louis played consistent golf throughout his round and added pars on the eleventh and fourteenth holes to ensure he did enough to take third place with a score of 35 points.
