Competition Sponsorship

It’s that time of the year where the men’s competition committee are starting to put together the competition fixtures and sponsors for the coming year. Sponsors play a vital role in the success of competitions at Strandhill Golf Club and without their continued support, we would be unable to offer the quality of competition that we’ve had in years past.

To that end, if there are any members who know of someone or indeed who would be interested in sponsoring a competition themselves at Strandhill Golf Club this year, you can speak to any member of the men’s committee.

BBC Radio Visit to Strandhill Golf Club

Henry Wymbs from BBC Radio OxfordSligo native and BBC Radio presenter, Henry Wymbs and his wife, Sally who is also his producer, visited Strandhill Golf Club last Monday afternoon. After enjoying a lunch in the golf club, they interviewed John Rainey, P.R.O. for their radio show, Irish Eye, which is due to air this coming Sunday, January 24th on BBC Radio Oxford.

Henry was back in his native Sligo on a short break and took advantage of the time he had to carry out a series of interviews with people from the area. The interview focused on Strandhill Golf Club and what we had to offer locally, nationally and internationally.

Henry will send on a copy of the interview once the show has aired and it will be available on our website.

This interview presents a fantastic opportunity to promote Strandhill & Strandhill Golf Club to a large audience in the UK as Henry’s show has a huge listenership.
