Strandhill Golf Club Midsummer Classic 2016

Midsummer Classic (Course Development Fundraiser)

It’s that time of the year again so be sure to keep the date free in your diary. Sunday June 26th will see the staging of the Midsummer Classic and we hope to build on the enormous success of last year’s competitions by increasing the number of entries from last year.

The format for the day is a team scramble event over 18 holes. Entry for a team of four of any combination is €120 and there will be music and fun and games all day. There will also be a free bar-b-que in the evening before the prize giving.

Last year proved to be an extremely well supported and fun day and this year is already shaping up to be even better. Just like last year there will be excellent prizes up for grabs.

Book your team now on 071 9168188.

Course Development & 50/50 Draw

50/50 DrawAs you are aware, the first phase of the planned course development got underway early this year as the course bunker complex underwent dramatic changes with the addition of new bunkers and the removal of superfluous ones. This work was financed completely from money raised through the 50/50 draw as well as from donations.

It is hoped to continue the final part of the bunker work this coming October and in order to do this, we need you support. We are asking all of our members to help support the development by signing up for the monthly 50/50 draw. It only costs €8 per month and can be paid by monthly direct debit.

You can download and print off a copy of the direct debit form from here. The form can be completed and handed into the office or golf shop. Forms are also available from the office.

With your help, we can continue to climb the Top 100 Golf Course rankings and make Strandhill Golf Club the jewel in the crown of Sligo golf.
